What we shoot and how we work

Four distinct services, one straightforward process — you tell us what's happening, we handle the rest.

Showing up is most of the job

Great candid photography requires preparation, patience, and the ability to disappear into a room.

Alphaimint operates on a simple premise: the photographer's job is to be invisible until the picture demands otherwise. We arrive early, we learn the space, and we stay until the last meaningful frame has been made. Every service below follows the same workflow — an initial call to understand your goals, a location scout or mood-board exchange where needed, the shoot itself, and a fully edited gallery delivered within 10–14 business days. Rush delivery is available for commercial and event clients. We do not subcontract shooting to other photographers without your explicit agreement, and every image is edited by the same person who pressed the shutter.

Our services

Wedding Photography — full day from $3,200 CAD

Coverage from getting-ready through to the first hour of the reception. Includes a pre-wedding location scout, a digital gallery of 500–700 fully edited images, and a private online gallery with download rights. Second-shooter add-on available for parties over 120 guests. We are not a video production company and do not offer videography — if you need both, we're happy to recommend trusted local collaborators.

Portrait Sessions — from $420 CAD

One-hour or two-hour sessions for individuals, couples, families, and professionals. Shot on location across Montréal — parks, alleyways, rooftops, your workspace. Delivered as 30–60 edited selects. We don't do studio strobe setups; all portrait work uses natural or available light, which is the foundation of the indigo-toned look throughout our portfolio.

Commercial Photography — from $980 CAD / half day

Product, editorial, food, and brand photography for businesses in Montréal and across Canada. We work from your brief or co-develop a visual direction with you. Final files are delivered as high-resolution TIFFs and web-ready JPEGs. Licensing terms are agreed in writing before the shoot. We don't handle post-production beyond photography — retouching, CGI, or motion work sits outside our scope.

Event Photography — from $750 CAD / 3 hours

Corporate events, product launches, galas, cultural openings, and private parties. Fast turnaround available: 48-hour delivery for press-critical events. Coverage is documentary in style — we circulate, we listen, and we catch the interactions that tell the story of the room. Events with more than 400 attendees may require a second shooter at an additional rate.

Things people usually ask before booking

How far in advance should we book?

For weddings, 6–12 months is the safe window, especially for summer and fall dates around Montréal. Portraits and events can usually be arranged within 2–4 weeks. Commercial projects vary depending on complexity — reach out early and we'll give you an honest timeline.

Do you travel outside Montréal?

Yes. We photograph regularly across Québec — Charlevoix, Cantons-de-l'Est, Laurentides, Québec City — and travel across Canada for destination weddings and commercial clients. Travel fees apply for any location more than 80 km from Montréal and are quoted transparently before you commit.

What's your editing style?

Clean, consistent, and true to the light that was actually present. You'll notice a cool indigo-toned baseline across most of our work — shadows lean slightly blue-grey, highlights stay open, and we avoid heavy presets that age poorly. Skin tones are always the priority. We don't deliver black-and-white conversions as standard, but can include a small B&W select on request.

Can we request specific shots?

For weddings and events, a short list of must-have group shots is useful and welcome. Beyond that, we work best when we're trusted to read the room. Heavily scripted shot lists tend to slow things down and produce the stiff, posed images we're specifically trying to avoid. For commercial work, a detailed shot list or mood board is standard practice and we'll build one together.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

Rain makes for extraordinary photographs, honestly. We've shot some of our favourite weddings under grey Montréal skies. We come prepared with off-camera flash for genuinely dark conditions, and we'll scout indoor backup locations during the pre-wedding call. Weather is outside anyone's control; our coverage quality isn't.

We needed half-day commercial coverage of our new Mile End flagship store opening. Alphaimint sent back 120 images that our agency used across a full campaign — billboards, web, Instagram. No reshoots, no drama. The cool, clean look matched our brand without any direction from us.
